Summary

The three pocket pebbled leather K98 rifle pouch (Patronentaschen 98K) held thirty rounds of 7.92mm ammunition. Two pouches were carried by the infantry soldier making this one of the most widely produced pieces of field gear.

WWII German M1911 K98 Rifle Ammunition Pouch - Transitional Pattern Gallery

These are transitional pattern pouches that have no visible dates. This type of pattern features steel fittings, rivets, an open style belt strap that wrapped under the pocket bottom and slipped over a post. RBNr numbers were used instead of manufacturer names starting in late 1942.

Transitional pouch with all steel fittings, original light brown pebbled leather. The pouch has suffered exterior heat damage at sometime in it's life, especially on the left pocket lid. The inside is in mint condition and has all ammunition clip dividers. The interior of each pocket has smooth black leather on the backside and bottom liners. There is no "RBNr." text. (20070227-02)
