Summary

The three pocket pebbled leather K98 rifle pouch (Patronentaschen 98K) held thirty rounds of 7.92mm ammunition. Two pouches were carried by the infantry soldier making this one of the most widely produced pieces of field gear.

WWII German M1911 K98 Rifle Ammunition Pouch - Late Pattern Gallery

These are late pattern pouches that feature steel fittings, rivets, and short vertical belt straps riveted to the lower back. The pouches shown here have illegible and/or incomplete markings. A question mark ("?") is used to show the expected location of a character.

Black pebbled leather and all steel fittings with rivets. Hardware is painted black so it is possible it was post war Russian applied. Rectangular style equipment hook. All rawhide ammunition clip dividers are missing. There is illegible handwriting on the inside of middle pocket lid and strap. The stamp characters are 4mm high. The last digit in the year appears to be missing. Maker code "ett" is Würtemberg-Hohenzollern / Stuttgart LL.G. (20070209)
