This is my to do and wanted list. I can't remember everything so I jot it down here.
- Figure out wiring source for horn. What's original and possibly a rebuild kit.
- Need all new wood bows and canvas top. I have all the original wood bows but missing wooden header. I also need a better understanding of top hardware.
- Chrome windshield frame
- Metal trim that goes under each door, mounted to frame.
- Wheels have been bead blasted. Dropped off first two wheels June 21 at American Dry Stripping. Paint them before winter sets in.
- Weld the two holes holes that should not be on the firewall.
- Figure out what holes should not be on the spare frame.
- Find and install new instrument panel
- Install new screws for instrument panel
- New spring perch bushings
- Straighten front axle
- New balls on steering spindles and pitman arm
- Weld cracks in front crossmember
- Install cross-member with new rivets
- Replace drivers side keyway on rear axle
- Replace the three outer seals in the rear axle
- Replace all brake and emergency brake linings
- Repair right side shackle mount at the perch
- Straighten front axle
Completed
- Replaced stripped front left wheel stud.
- Cleaned and repacked front wheel bearings
- Cleaned and painted front wheel brake drums
- Replaced water hoses
- Rebuild carburetor
- Replaced both gas lines and fuel bowl
- Gas cap gasket with leather
- Replaced throttle control rod and spring
- New Ford script 6 volt battery
- Installed original style copper ground strap
- New spark plugs
- New points
- Polished spark plug wire strips
- Installed with solder correct headlight terminal ends
- Installed new SS horn conduit
- New cork seal for both headlights
- New engine oil
- Replaced water
- Replaced amp meter
- New 30 amp fuse block to protect wiring
- Replaced vacuum line plug in manifold (used anti-seize)
- New screws for starter switch mount
- Replaced wiring for generator
- Reconnected horn
- Installed electronic voltage regulator in place of the generator cutout. I used the Fun Projects version which has an original style housing.
- New grommet and screws for starter switch installed on engine side of firewall
- New cross sill channel from a rusty original
- Repaired front right side frame damage
- Replaced cracked transmission housing and rebuilt with new sealed bearings. Painted Ford Engine Green
- New clutch release shaft and bearings
- New pedal shaft and bushings
- Bell housing bead blasted and painted
