Stinch's 1930 Ford Model A Cabriolet

2008 - Out of Storage

October 4 - The front seats were reinstalled after cleaning out the mice nests. These pictures above were taken just before the car was driven up the street for a quarter mile. The brake lights were not working so I didn't want to go too far. This was the first time in more than eight years that the car was driven on the road.

September 29 - After sitting idle for more than eight years, the engine was started. It was driven down the driveway and allowed to get up to temperature. There was a little water leaking from water pump shaft. I had put oil in the cylinders to coat the walls. It took about ten minutes for all of it to burn off.

June 15 - Pulled out of the garage for the first time in about five years. It was fitted with 1935 Ford wheels sometime in the 1980's. In 2000, my Dad purchased a set of new tires for the original 19" wheels but due to illness, was unable to to get them mounted. The 19" wheels will replace the wider '35 wheels and return the car closer to how it was when Henry built it.

1999

This picture was taken during the summer of 1999. In the background is his Cabriolet. The foreground is a my six cylinder 1969 MGC/GT.
