Welcome to my personal page

Here are some of my many interests and hobbies. For some background, my dad was in the US Air Force serving in England when he married my mom in July of 1956. I was the first of two children and was born in Norwich, England in June of 1957. A year later we moved to America. Our family moved about every three to six years within the states and we lived in New Orleans Louisiana, Mobile Alabama, Memphis Tennessee, and Connecticut.

Debbie has been my wife for 25 years and we have two children, Jimmy and Sarah. I'm employed by Computer Sciences Corporation under contract with UTC/Sikorsky Aircraft. My short list of favorite current TV shows are "The Office" and "American Pickers ".

This is from the family records that my grandfather Harry Waring Stinchcomb had researched during the 1950's:

Stinchcombe. A Parish in Gloucestershire

Meaning-

"inch" - Several parishes and places in Scotland. Inch is a topographical expression signifying island. It has been derived from the British "ynys", and the Gaelic "inis" - insula. The word is said to occur with the same signification in some of North America. But it sometimes denotes level ground contiguous to a river.Example - Inchbold - Local from inch, island and bold, a dwelling "the Island Home".

"Combe, combes" - A Sax. Comb celt "cwm", a hollow in a valley.

Web page notes: In the past, most of my web pages were been written with only HTML, but recently I've been working to convert to HTML/CSS; this page is the first. It will be a long process to complete the other 'sub-sites' listed under the Main Menu. In the mean time, I hope you enjoy what I have. To see why CSS is so cool, resize your browser and watch how the window is able to adjust without loosing content (to a point anyway). This page is best viewed with Firefox.Get Firefox

Thanks for Looking!
